New must-watch drama, Ingoma premieres on Mzansi Magic

A brand new drama premieres today, 9 April 2018 on Mzansi Magic (DStv 161).

According to Mzansi Magic, the central question that the new drama is trying to explore is “What would you put a loved one through to achieve success?”

Produced by Paw Paw Productions, Ingoma is a weekly half-hour drama that follows the story of three aspiring artists from the Eastern Cape town of Alice: Sino, played by Anita Sibozo, Ezekiel, played by Ayanda Makayi and Angel, played by Oros Mampofu.

The naïve trio is being lured to Cape Town’s big lights and fast life by businessman and record label owner Leo Black, played by Buyile Dladla.

However, Leo Black’s promise of a life of glamour, wealth and extravagance and making it into the industry turns out to bear different, not very savoury intentions. The main character, Sino, and her band ends up strucking a sinister deal between one of the trio and Leo Black.

“Ingoma has all the essential trademarks of a brilliant drama,” believes M-Net’s Director of Local Entertainment Channels, Reneilwe Sema. “A strong female protagonist with an unwavering will to succeed, an enthralling world in which the story is set, and what at first seems to be a malicious villain. The plot soon provides a massive twist which will leave viewers questioning whose corner they’re really in,” he added.

The first season of the new drama premieres today, 9 April 2018 at 8 pm, on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161).
