Ndlozi calls for a United States of Africa
Mbuyiseni Ndlozi took to Twitter to call for a United States of Africa, despite the opposition from some, as the EFF has been advocating for a borderless Africa.
The Commissar of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Mbuyiseni Ndlozi took to Twitter on Tuesday, 2 February 2021, to call for a United States of Africa. The first of his tweets on the matter was to introduce the contentious phrase. This follows the rehashing of movements such as Put South Africans First, which call for the prioritisation of South African citizens for economic and employment opportunities. However, the EFF has been vocal and adamant about creating a borderless African state.
While the party continues to face backlash over the matter, it has remained unwavering. Hence, when Ndlozi posted the first tweet, he went on to share a video of former president, Thabo Mbeki speaking on why the narrative against a singular African state is nonsensical.
Ndlozi, in posting the Mbeki clip, was attempting to find words he believed would better explain the reason for the calls for a United States of Africa. Previously, when he expressed such views, he was met with backlash and attacks.
