Mzansi Magic confirms the return of fan favourite shows, Utatako, Papa Penny and others, in April

Mzansi Magic (DSTV channel 161) issued an official announcement on their website, confirming the return of fan favourite shows such as The Herd and Lockdown in April 2019.

The popular local channel shared the announcement on Thursday, 28 March 2019, stating “We’re excited to announce the return of the favourites in April! We promise, this is the content you signed up for!”

The returning shows include The Herd and Lockdown as the first to premiere on Sunday, 7 April 2019, with Utatako making a comeback on Tuesday, 9 April 2019. Papa Penny will then follow on Thursday, 11 April 2019 and uThando Nes’Thembu will close off the premiere week on Friday, 12 April 2019.

According to the official statement, The Herd kicks off Season 2 approximately seven months later, when MaMngadi reveals that she doesn’t want to be a witch anymore.

Lockdown’s Season 4 premiere picks up three months after the riot and sees Deborah clawing herself back to the top as Governor of the prison. She has placed Tyson in power, allowing her access to more contraband than the prison has ever seen.

Season 7 of Utatako sees Nimrod Nkosi once again helping people find their biological fathers.

Mzansi Magic has deemed Papa Penny’s season 3 as the most emotional and intense season to date, which will include an international trip, liberal views on romance and a new addition to the family.

Finally, uThando Nes’Thembu’s season 3 will see Musa demonstrate how he juggles his time equally amongst his four wives, while running various business ventures.
