Joyous Celebration on the big screen
In commemoration of their great success, Joyous Celebration have signed up for a one-of-a-kind project.
According to Joyous Celebration co-founder Jabu Hlongwane, this will be the group’s “most ambitious project yet.”
From 27 April 2018 Joyous Celebration will grace the cinema screen nationwide. NuMetro cinemas has described the project as:
“Highlighting 14 tracks from the ‘Joyous 22’ album, re-edited and mastered for the cinema release, this high-quality movie vividly captures their majestic voices and signatures moves that have become synonymous with the ensemble – leaving the audience feeling as if they are live in concert.”
The film will showcase the 32-person choir alongside a 12-piece band. Joyous Celebration’s unique assemblage of traditional and contemporary hymns will therefore become accessible to a whole new set of audience members.
