ActionSA has announced that there are now 420 businesses who have joined its class action lawsuit against the leadership of the ANC for the recent riots.
Leader of ActionSA, Herman Mashaba issued a statement on Thursday, 12 August 2021, announcing that now, over 420 businesses have signed up to join its groundbreaking class action lawsuit against President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, members of the security cluster, the ANC, and others who are believed to be at fault, following the lawlessness that terrorised communities across parts of KZN and Gauteng in July 2021.
Mashaba stated that the increase in the number of businesses signing up suggests that South Africans are tired of the inaction and politicians who do not serve them. Mashaba has shared some submissions from South Africans who were negatively impacted by the riots and lootings, noting that ActionSA’s legal team is working on reviewing the submissions received.
Mashaba has expressed that he remains gutted by the devastation, sharing his sympathies with all who lost their livelihoods and loved ones as a result of what he referred to as senseless ANC factional battles and acts of terrorism. He also expressed that the party remains resolute that President Ramaphosa needs to establish an Independent Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the alleged treason.
