The Department of Employment and Labour took to Twitter to state that the Mokopane Labour Centre has temporarily closed down, due to a confirmed COVID-19 case at the centre.
The Department of Employment and Labour took to Twitter on Monday, 25 January 2021, to announce the temporary closure of the Mokopane Labour Centre, due to a confirmed COVID-19 case on the premises. This has been a regular occurrence at labour centres nationally, particularly after the festive season break.
The post stated, “Dear clients, Mokopane Labour Centre has reported a COVID-19 case. The office has been closed and all protocols implemented in terms of isolation and decontamination of the workspace. The office is expected to reopen by Monday, 8 February 2021. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
People that live in Mokopane and surrounding areas, and have been affected by the temporary closure, are advised to make use of the department’s website in the interim. However, should there be a need to physically visit a labour centre, then it is advised to visit the next nearest labour centre.
