Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane took to Twitter to change her profile picture, which now showcases some of her victories since assuming the Public Protector role after Advocate Thuli Madonsela.
Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane took to Twitter on Friday, 9 April 2021, to change her profile picture. The change of her profile picture is telling, as it is now an infographic detailing some of her achievements since becoming the Public Protector. According to the infographic, during her tenure, she has loaded 66 882 cases, successfully defended eight reports in the courts, and had 14 reports reviewed and set aside by the courts.
Mkhwebane, who is currently on a sabbatical, recently suffered the loss of her mother who was laid to rest this past week. Moreover, her sabbatical is drawing to an end and the change in her profile picture suggests that she is ready to return to her office. Mkhwebane has several battles to face when she returns to office, with one of the notable ones being the suggestion of a vote of no confidence against her, which has been spearheaded by the Democratic Alliance (DA) thus far.
