American First Lady, Melania Trump has come under serious fire for wearing an insensitive fashion article
Social media platforms were abuzz today with reactions to Melania Trump’s latest fashion blunder. Hordes of Twitter users have blasted Mrs Trump for donning an insensitive item of clothing during her trip to Texas to visit detained immigrant children. The First Lady wore a jacket inscribed with the phrase, “Really don’t care, do you?”, while boarding her plane to Texas. Various celebrity influencers have since joined the conversation regarding the coat, with many slamming the First Lady for being highly insensitive to the situation at hand.
Mrs Trump’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, has since issued a statement saying that there is no hidden message behind the jacket. President Donald Trump issued a dissimilar clause about the jacket saying instead that, “[the jacket] refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!”
The backlash incited upon Melania Trump came after the president signed the executive order to reverse the policy on separating immigrant children from their parents, which was implemented by his administration. The policy was condemned globally as footage of children shuttered behind caged enclosures was released publicly. Critics have gone so far as to call Mrs Trump’s jacket incident a ‘diversion’ from the president’s controversial policies.
