Oswald to join the likes of Dr Edwin Hertzog on the Board of the multinational health care provider, Mediclinic. This comes amid other changes to the Board committees.
Mediclinic International has announced the appointment of Dr Anja Oswald as an independent non-executive director effective today, 25 July 2018. This comes amid a series of other changes to the membership of the Board committees as announced on 29 March 2018.
Dr Oswald holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Rochester-Berne Executive MBA as well as a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Basel. She also has years of experience as a medical practitioner and is currently the CEO of Klinik Sonnenhalde, a private clinic in Riehen Switzerland.
Oswald will also be joining the Remuneration and Nomination Committees of the Board, with Prof Dr Robert Leu stepping down from both committees. Further changes to the Board committees include one other member stepping down from the Nomination Committee and one more coming on board. The Clinical Performance and Sustainability committee has lost three members and gained two, while the Investment committee has lost one and gained another member.
Mediclinic says all of the above changes are effective from 25 July 2018 as a result of the resignations of Nandi Mandela and Robert Leu as independent non-executive directors.
“The Board is excited to welcome Dr Oswald as an independent non-executive director of the company,” says Chairman of Mediclinic, Dr Edwin Hertzog. He also adds that Oswald’s wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field will be a valuable addition to the Board.
Mediclinic currently comprises 75 hospitals and 35 clinics with operating divisions in Switzerland, South Africa, Namibia and the United Arab Emirates.
