Mbalula claims Zuma has nothing to lose by appearing before commission

Published on

Fikile Mbalula has publicly expressed that he believes that Jacob Zuma should appear in front of the State Capture Commission, as he has nothing to lose by doing so.

Minister of Transport and National Executive Committee (NEC) member of the African National Congress (ANC), Fikile Mbalula took to Twitter on Monday, 22 February 2021, to reiterate his stance on the stalemate between Jacob Zuma and the State Capture Commission. This follows reports that the State Capture Commission has gone to the courts to have the former president imprisoned for two years for disregarding the Constitutional Court order to appear before it.

While Mbalula did not speak on whether he feels that the two-year jail term is justified or deserved, he claimed that Zuma is being badly advised to not appear in front of the commission. Mbalula further claimed that Zuma has nothing to lose by appearing before the commission.

Mbalula stated, “Umsholozi will lose nothing by going to the commission, nothing.”
