Mashaba announces opening of online voter registration platform

Published on

Herman Mashaba has shared the details of ActionSA’s online voter registration platform, which is now open to those who are “tired of corruption, cadre deployment and compromised candidates.”

Leader of ActionSA, Herman Mashaba took to Twitter on Tuesday, 4 May 2021, to liken the upcoming elections to the battle between David and Goliath. Mashaba seemed to suggest that far more established parties, such as the African National Congress (ANC), are the Goliaths, while his newly established party is the David.

His sentiments were further supported by the subsequent post he shared of a link to the political party’s online voter registration platform, in a move to encourage registrations. Mashaba, when he first established the party, appeared to target qualifying voters who previously opted not to vote. He believed that if he managed to successfully attract those potential voters, he would be able to secure enough votes to firmly place him in power. However, as his election campaign has continued, he appears to have shifted his focus to canvassing for votes where most parties do – visible and active voters.
