Mzwanele Manyi took to Twitter to clarify the spiritual stance of the ATM, by labelling the organisation as a faith-based organisation where all beliefs are welcome.
The African Transformation Movement’s (ATM) Head of Policy and Strategy, Mzwanele Manyi took to Twitter on Thursday, 7 January 2021, to clarity the spiritual stance of the ATM. It is unclear what prompted the post, however, Manyi felt the need to clarify that the “ATM is a faith-based organisation. This means ATM is open to all who believe there is a Creator. Whether Islam, African spirituality, Christian, Hindu, traditional, etc.”
The revelation was not much of a surprise to some, considering the various spiritual beliefs of the national executive members of the party. Manyi has not disclosed his own religious standpoint, however, the ATM’s leader, Vuyolwethu Zungula has, in the past, shared visuals of himself dressed in his religious regalia and during a service.
With the party having revealed its stance on religion, it will be off interest to learn of its views on other controversial issues. Previously, the party made it clear that it does champion the empowerment of women.
