Mantashe delivers ANC message to SACP at hundredth anniversary

Gwede Mantashe attended the hundredth Founding Anniversary Rally of the SACP and delivered a message of support on behalf of President Ramaphosa, further recognising the party’s contributions.

The National Chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC), Gwede Manatashe attended the South African Communist Party’s (SACP) virtual hundredth Founding Anniversary Rally on Sunday, 1 August 2021, to deliver the ANC’s message of support on behalf of President Cyril Ramaphosa. Mantashe noted that the SACP is the longest-standing ally of the ANC, and that the rally was a platform to reflect on the journey of the revolution.

Mantashe stated that the reflections inspire the government to provide solutions to the most pressing challenges of the times. The chairperson also stated that the party has always immersed itself in ensuring that there is clarity in bringing upon fundamental change in the lives of the people, and that the ANC celebrates its indelible efforts in serving the people.

Mantashe further touched on the fact that the SACP has endured many challenges, noting that during its inception, it had to deal with a lack of acceptability, but that ideological and theoretical fortitude enabled the party to survive hostility and build a stronger coherent alliance. Mantashe praised the party’s revolutionary understanding, describing it as unmatched. He expressed that is the reason the alliance has remained relevant and formidable.
