Mampintsha teases new EP The Gentle Don

Mampintsha announced that he will soon be releasing an EP titled The Gentle Don over social media on Thursday, 25 October 2018.

Since his spilt from Kwaito group Big Nuz at the start of 2018, Mampintsha has released a string of solo singles and collaborations, including the single ‘Amaketanga’ featuring his rumoured fiancé Babes Wodumo.

On Thursday, 25 October, Mampintsha took to social media to announce the title of his soon to be released EP. “My Fans Get Ready For this Big One! The Gentle Don EP…I’m Coming through with…Don’t Miss It!!! DROPPING SOON,” he wrote.

In the run up to the EP release, Mampintsha will launch his latest single, ‘Phakamisa’ featuring Camp Masters, on Friday, 26 October at Joe Cools North Beach in Durban.

He will then head out to Kwandezi Sport Grounds on Saturday, 27 October 2018 to perform at DJ Bongz fourth annual Social Link festival.

Other featured artists include actress Pearl Thusi, DJ Tira and Sox, Fifi Cooper, Dlala Mshunqisi, Tipcee, Chynaman, Merlon and DJ Bongz himself.

In early October, Mampintsha announced that he will be retiring from the music industry. In a five-part video posted on social media, he explained that he no longer finds the industry a “pleasant” place to work.

“I am growing so I was thinking that this year I will release everything I have, all my hits but this will be my last year as a musician. Please don’t call this giving up because it isn’t that. This will be last year in music, so I can focus on other things which I have been doing on the side,” he said.
