Malema endorses retaliation against SAPS’ alleged violent actions

Published on

The EFF’s CIC, Julius Malema was recorded as encouraging violent retaliation against the SAPS, following the recent protest action in Brackenfell.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) took to Twitter on Monday, 23 November 2020, to post a video of its leader, Julius Malema’s address in Mohokare Ward 6. In the video, Malema can be heard speaking about how members of the EFF should not be afraid to react to the violent intervention by the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Malema’s utterances are based on the SAPS’ intervention last week during the EFF’s protest action in Brackenfell. While the first protest action was defined by the Brackenfell community responding to the EFF, the second protest action was defined by the SAPS’ alleged violent actions against EFF members.

Therefore, Malema has suggested that instead of turning the other cheek, EFF members should retaliate in the same manner they are met by the SAPS. He then proposed going to their homes and confronting them when they are not wearing their uniforms.
