Makhubo suggests the DA is a “dead” political party

Published on

Geoff Makhubo took to Twitter to lambaste the DA, after the leading opposition party suggested that his move into office was motivated by personal gain.

Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, Geoff Makhubo took to Twitter on Monday, 26 October 2020, to continue lambasting the Democratic Alliance (DA) on public record. The critique of the party started on Sunday, 25 October 2020, after the DA accused Makhubo of corruption.

Makhubo claimed that the DA had accused him of moving into the mayor’s office for personal gain. The party alleged that the move was Makhubo’s way of acquiring multi-million-rand contracts to benefit him.

In retaliation, Makhubo then suggested that the informal settlements in the area are because of Herman Mashaba and his bad governance while serving under the DA. When it was suggested that his departure from the “Dying Alliance” marked the nearing end of the party that ruined the City of Johannesburg, Makhubo suggestively asked, “Dying or dead?”
