Mmusi Maimane is calling for a cabinet reshuffle and the dismissal of what he referred to as the top six failing cabinet ministers, based on their supposed underperformance.
Chief Activist of One South Africa Movement (OSA), Mmusi Maimane took to Twitter on Wednesday, 14 April 2021, to circulate a statement calling for President Cyril Ramaphosa to reshuffle the cabinet. Moreover, he suggested that the reshuffle be used as a strategy to get rid of underperforming ministers. The country’s last cabinet reshuffle was in 2018, under the Zuma administration.
Maimane also went on to list the top six most underperforming ministers, according to him, who should be relieved of their responsibilities and duties during the reshuffle. Maimane listed Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, Minister Angie Motshekga, Minister Blade Nzimande, Minister Lindiwe Zulu, Minister Fikile Mbalula and Minister Lindiwe Sisulu.
In conclusion, the statement noted, “The One South Africa Movement is working hard to build an alternative government structure, a citizen-led structure which lessens the power of political parties and better empowers communities to elect and hold to account their public representatives.”
