Maimane claims nation is “run by a network of thieves”
Mmusi Maimane took to Twitter to remark on South Africa reaching full junk status, as the last two credit rating agencies confirmed the news this past week.
Chief Activist of One South African Movement (OSA), Mmusi Maimane took to Twitter on Sunday, 22 November 2020, to remark on South Africa’s full junk status rating. At the weekend, news of the last two credit rating agencies, Moody’s and Fitch, making the declaration made headlines.
The announcement comes on the back of the government’s involvement in the South Africa Investment Conference that was held this past week. The aim was to establish a relationship between the government, business and investors. However, with the dark cloud of the ongoing Bushiri saga and the uncertainty over the country living up to the Economic Recovery Plan, the conference did not seem to yield the desired results.
Maimane, in his remarks on the declaration of full junk status, suggested that it is now up to the public to change the trajectory of the country, as the nation is currently “being run by a network of thieves.” He suggested voting for a change in government in the upcoming elections.
See the post below.
We are in junk status, billions are missing and our children are receiving an education that is obsolete.
The nation has been desecrated and is being run by a network of thieves.
