Magashule: We are a pro-poor, working class, bias organisation

Carl Niehaus took to Twitter to share a video of Ace Magashule reiterating the ethos of the ruling party, claiming it is a “pro-poor, working class, bias organisations,” despite recent developments.

National Executive Council (NEC) member of the African National Congress (ANC), Carl Niehaus took to Twitter on Monday, 19 October 2020, to share a video of the ANC’s Secretary-General, Ace Magashule’s recent address. Magashule was at the forefront of the election campaign activity in Soweto, Johannesburg, at the weekend. The ruling party was there to ensure that its members are registered and have updated their information.

According to Niehaus’ post, Magashule stated, “We must never fear to redirect the budget from the privileged, the rich, to the poor, because that is ANC policy. We are a pro-poor, working class, bias organisation.”

Magashule was quoted as saying this whilst facing corruption allegations himself, as he has been implicated in the Free State asbestos housing project scandal. Additionally, there were rumours recently that he received an arrest warrant, but the matter remains contentious. Moreover, it is not just Magashule who has been implicated in corrupt dealings from the ANC, several others have been accused of not being in alignment with the party’s supposed ethos.
