The ANC has confirmed that Ace Magashule will front the upcoming presentation of the members of the ANCYL NYTT, which is set to take place later today.
The African National Congress (ANC) took to Twitter on Wednesday, 7 April 2021, to share a statement detailing the proceedings for the upcoming ANC Youth League (ANCYL) National Youth Task Team (NYTT) induction. The post revealed that the ANC Secretary-General, Ace Magashule will be fronting the presentation thereof.
Magashule is set to present the members of the newly formed internal structure of the ANC. However, the confusion on the decision to assign such a task to Magashule comes on the back of what was initially believed as his precarious position in the party. Magashule was believed to be one of the implicated ANC executive members referred to when President Cyril Ramaphosa stated that those implicated in corruption have 30 days to step down voluntarily, or face suspension.
With Magashule being assigned such a task, it suggests that the words of Ramaphosa were merely lip service or are being dismissed. Therefore, it is unclear whether the Secretary-General will ever step down. The presentation is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 8 April 2021, at 13:00. The induction can be viewed on the party’s social media pages.
