Magashule: The era of fake news is indeed upon us

Published on

Ace Magashule has corroborated the suggestions of the use of the media to circulate fake news, in light of the circulation of a video of him supposedly storming into Luthuli House.

Suspended Secretary-General (SG) of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule took to Twitter on Saturday, 15 May 2021, to corroborate suggestions of the use of the media to circulate fake news. In his tweet, Magashule made reference to a viral video that has been circulating on social media.

In the video, some alleged ANC party members can be seen barging into a barricaded building and threatening violence. Upon the video’s circulation, it was alleged that the man in question was Magashule barging into Luthuli House and threatening to attack President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Despite the rubbishing of the allegations, Magashule took it upon himself to suggest that the sharing thereof was a concerted effort to tarnish his image. Magashule is taking the ruling party to court to have his suspension reversed and Ramaphosa’s instated.
