Magashule returns to Twitter amid Mbalula’s claims
Ace Magashule has returned to Twitter, and his first post since his five-month hiatus is speculated to be directed at fellow ANC member, Fikile Mbalula.
Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule returned to Twitter on Monday, 12 October 2020, with his first tweet since mid-May. The tweet saw Magashule questioning if an unnamed person has started with their erratic tendencies.
Although Magashule did not explicitly name anyone, some are speculating that he was referring to fellow ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) member, Fikile Mbalula. This is based on the recent Twitter commentary by Mbalula, suggesting that Magashule is behind the employment of known “thug,” Carl Niehaus.
The suggestion that the tweet was directed at Mbalula reached the Minister of Transport, resulting in him responding to the post in a since-deleted tweet. Magashule has yet to clarify whether the tweet was directed at Mbalula.
