Magashule fails to provide timeline to meet demands of KZN protesters

Published on

Ace Magashule recently addressed KZN protestors to assure them that the ANC is aware of their concerns, but failed to provide a timeline to meet their demands.

The Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule was the party’s representative on Tuesday, 13 October 2020, during the protest action undertaken by KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) residents, alongside the All Truck Drivers Forum and Allied South Africa (ATDFASA). The protesters, which also included hawkers and unemployed graduates, called for intervention in the creation of employment opportunities.

Seventeen minutes into a video shared on Twitter, Magashule asserted that the ruling party has heard the collective’s demands. Moreover, Magashule suggested that one of the ways in which the ruling party is working towards meeting the demands is by speeding up the process of land reform, which is spearheaded by Minister Thoko Didiza.

However, a matter he could not give clarity on was the turnaround time for the promises made. Magashule expressed difficulty at providing a time frame because of how layered the plan is, according to him.
