Ace Magashule has continued his engagements with former heads of state, following his recent meeting with former president, Thabo Mbeki and former interim president, Kgalema Motlanthe.
Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC), Ace Magashule took to Twitter on Friday, 30 April 2021, to showcase his continued meetings with former heads of state. In pictures, Magashule revealed that he met with former president, Thabo Mbeki and former interim president and deputy president, Kgalema Motlanthe.
The post was shared in light of the extension of the ANC’s step-aside resolution as it relates to Magashule. The ruling party recently resolved that officials who are implicated in corruption have 30 days to step down, with Magashule being amongst those. His 30 days was then reportedly extended to Monday, 3 May 2021.
Despite the extension, neither the ANC nor Magashule have released a statement announcing his stepping down from his position. On the contrary, the meetings suggest that the Secretary-General is affirming his continued commitment to fulfilling the obligations of his position.
