From 13 April 2018 the Marvel Studios pop-up channel will air on channel 109.
Since the release of the first Iron Man film instalment in 2008, Marvel Studios has seen an exponential increase in their fan base.
Marvel Studios latest release, Black Panther, has recently been named as the third-highest grossing film of all time. It beat James Cameron’s Titanic to synch this spot.
In response to Marvel’s extensive fan legion, M-Net movies has announced the launch of a new movie channel.
M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard said,
“The timing of our M-Net Movies Marvels Studios Pop-Up Channel is also absolutely perfect with the franchise currently creating an incredible buzz worldwide.”
From Friday 13 April 2018, the Marvel Studios pop-up channel will air on DStv Premium channel 109.
The channel will run from 06:00 CAT to 00:00 daily until Sunday 22 April 2018.
Each day of the week a film from a Marvel franchise, which has overlapping storylines, will be screened in chronological order of their cinema releases.
The channel will also serve as a lead-up to the new Avengers: Infinity War which hits South African cinemas on Friday 27 April 2018.
In addition to the screening of fifteen of Marvel’s film franchises, the channel will air behind-the-scenes teasers and a range of documentaries chronicling the making of these hit blockbusters.
