[LISTEN] SAMWU wants City of Tshwane to recover money paid to Aucamp

On Friday, 18 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to Mpho Tladinyane, SAMWU Regional Secretary in Tshwane.

The South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) had previously called for the former City of Tshwane Chief of Staff, Marietha Aucamp to resign, following revelations that she had falsified her qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Tladinyane now says that the union welcomes Aucamp’s resignation, but will also be pushing for the city to recover the money spent paying Aucamp’s salary during her time as Chief of Staff.

“All the irregular expenditure incurred by the city in respect of paying her [Aucamp] salary must then be recouped by the city,” he said.
