On Wednesday, 30 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to Patrick Aphane, who is the SAMWU Provincial Secretary in Limpopo.
The South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU) has called for the suspension of Vhembe District Municipal Manager, Reuben Rambado. This is after Rambado allegedly assaulted a general manager in front of other staff members. Aphane says it is not enough that Mayor, Florence Radzilani has begun a process of investigations into the incident. He says that Rambado should be suspended while investigations are ongoing. He added SAMWU would put pressure on the Mayor to suspend the Municipal Manager.
“We will do everything, everything. We will put political pressure on the ANC; we will put pressure on SALGA. We will put pressure on everybody,” he said.
