On Thursday, 17 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to United Democratic Movement (UDM) Secretary General, Bongani Msomi.
Msomi says his party is concerned about Tshwane’s Mayor, Solly Msimanga’s alleged involvement in the appointment of Marietha Aucamp as the city’s Chief of Staff, even though she did not meet the minimum requirements for the position. The UDM charges that the Democratic Alliance has over the years branded itself as the party of clean governance, but the appointment of Aucamp proves otherwise.
“What is very clear is that like it or not the Mayor was involved, and what is surprising is that the DA is always claiming to be standing for clean governance, but this is what is happening now,” he said.
