On Wednesday, 23 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to the Democratic Alliance (DA) leader in the North West, Joe McGluwa.
The DA in the North West has welcomed Supra Mahumapelo’s decision to take early retirement. This is after the embattled former Premier of the North West province placed himself on special leave earlier this month.
McGluwa says Mahumapelo’s retirement should not absolve him from being prosecuted for alleged corrupt activities in the province during his time as Premier.
“Supra must actually be prosecuted. He was there – he is a former Premier. He’s involved. Where are the consequences?” he said.
