On Thursday, 28 June 2018 Political Analysis South Africa spoke to Thabo Moselane, who is the National Sector Organiser for the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU).
Workers affiliated to FAWU embarked on a nationwide strike yesterday at various plants of dairy company, Parmalat. Workers are demanding pay increases of 9%, and annual and monthly incentives. The dairy company has offered workers a 7.3% increase. Moselane says, the parties will meet tomorrow to find solutions to the wage disputes.
“We are actually going to meet with the company tomorrow…to try and resolve the strike,” Moselane said.
