[LISTEN] Critical positions still unfilled in Zulu’s department

Published on

On Thursday, 31 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to Toby Chance, who is the DA Shadow Minister for Small Business Development.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has slammed the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) for not having approved an organisational structure since 2014. Chance says the continued vacancy of critical positions in the Department, including at least three Deputy Director positions, has rendered some units dysfunctional, and according to Chance, this has impacted negatively on the productivity and direction of staff at the Department.

“They’re still working on the approved start up structure, not the approved structure that was presented in their strategic plan, so we have unfilled positions…And the minister [Lindiwe Zulu], unfortunately, has not come to the party,” he said.
