On Monday, 25 June 2018 Political Analysis South Arica spoke to Chris Swepu, who is the Secretary of Azanian People’s Organisation (AZAPO).
AZAPO has launched a campaign to have AbaThembu King, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo released from prison. The King is serving a 12-year sentence for crimes relating to kidnapping, assault, arson, culpable homicide and for defeating the ends of justice.
Swepu says the party will write a letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa to pardon Dalindyebo.
“We are confident that President Ramaphosa is better placed even in terms of the new dawn proposal, to make good to the king and the African community,” Swepu said.
