[LISTEN] ANC Free State says members should solve issues internally

On Monday, 21 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to African National Congress (ANC) Free State Spokesperson, Thabo Meeko.

The ANC in the Free State held a provincial elective conference during the weekend, where new leadership was elected.

A group of disgruntled ANC members in the province have now vowed to take the new leadership to court in a bid to have the elective conference declared null and void.

Meeko says the conference was held following an instruction from the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC). He adds that disgruntled members should rather follow the ANC constitution, which instructs members to exhaust internal process before heading to the country’s court to solve the party’s issues.

“The tendency which is a very dangerous tendency is for people to go straight to court without people even exhausting issues internally,” he said.
