[LISTEN] 7 days for Mpumalanga Premier to respond to NEHAWU’s demands

On Wednesday, 27 June 2018 Political Analysis South Africa spoke to Welcome Mnisi, from the National Education, Health and Allied Workers Union (NEHAWU) in Mpumalanga.

NEHAWU in Mpumalanga will embark on a march on Thursday, 28 June 2018 to Premier, Refilwe Mtsweni’s office. The union will be handing over a list of demands, including the removal of the MEC for Health, Gillion Mashego and the filling of vacant posts in the various provincial departments.

Mnisi says, should Mtsweni not meet their demands in seven days time the union will be compelled to embark on a shutdown of the province.

“When we hand over the memorandum to the Premier tomorrow we are going to tell her that the approach is going to change should it happen that our matters are not attended to within a space of seven days,” Mnisi said.
