Lady Zamar performs at Global Citizen #SheIsEqual summit

In honour of International Day of the Girl Child on Thursday, 11 October 2018, Lady Zamar performed for a group of dignitaries at the #SheIsEqual seminar in Pretoria.

Vocalist Lady Zamar partnered with the Global Citizen organisation to commemorate International Day of the Girl Child on Thursday, 11 October.

Global Citizen advocates for the alleviation of extreme poverty, gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and girls’ education.

The Global Citizen music festival, featuring the likes of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi and Cassper Nyovest, will take place in Johannesburg on 2 December 2018.

In the run-up to the concert event, Global Citizen hosted the #SheIsEqual summit in Pretoria. Various dignitaries and business leaders were invited to the seminar to deliberate on the factors impacting gender equality and girls’ education in South Africa. Notable entertainment personalities, including Zamar, were also invited to attend the conference.

Zamar performed her latest single, ‘What You Need’, to the gathered crowd. Following her performance, Global Citizen tweeted their thanks to her for joining the event. “I am honoured indeed,” she replied.

While Lady Zamar will not be performing at the Global Citizen Festival, she has been announced as one of the headline acts at the inaugural Music Is King concert happening on 15 December 2018, at the TicketPro Dome.

She will be joined by concert organiser DJ Black Coffee, rapper Nasty C, Burna Boy and Ricky Rick.
