Minister Nxesi and Deputy Minister Moloi are scheduled to deliver the Labour Department’s Budget Vote Speech on Friday, 14 May 2021, which will be televised and available for virtual viewing too.
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) took to Twitter on Thursday, 13 May 2021, to confirm the date of the Department of Employment and Labour’s Budget Vote Speech. The speech is set to be provided by Minister Thulas Nxesi and Deputy Minister Boitumelo Moloi.
From the upcoming address, some are looking to gain clarity on the suspension of the Temporary Employer-Employee Relief Scheme (TERS). Currently, the department is working on processing the applications from the three-month extension announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa during his State Of The Nation Address (SONA). The extension only applies to sectors that were most affected by the return to stricter regulations during the second wave of the pandemic.
The Labour Department’s Budget Vote Speech is scheduled for 10:00 on Friday, 14 May 2021. The address is set to be televised and available for virtual viewing on Parliament’s social media pages.
