The Labour Department has confirmed that it has moved all of its application services online, a move which was prioritised in light of the pandemic.
The Department of Employment and Labour took to Twitter on Wednesday, 28 April 2021, to confirm that it has moved all of its application services online. This is a move that was fast-tracked by the department in light of the pandemic. During the stricter COVID-19 alert levels, many of the department’s branches were inundated with physical visits. This resulted in sporadic and constant closures of various offices due to confirmed COVID-19 cases.
In light of the continuous closure of various offices, it became imperative for the department to fast-track its online operations and processes. Therefore, the recent post affirmed that employers and employees can now revert to the online platform for application processes. The online portal is already functional.
