Labour Department announces temporary closure of two North West centres
The Labour Department has announced the temporary closure of two labour centres in the North West, due to confirmed COVID-19 cases on the premises.
The Department of Employment and Labour took to Twitter on Tuesday, 19 January 2021, to announce the temporary closure of two labour centres in the North West. The closures are due to confirmed COVID-19 cases on the premises.
The first labour centre that reported a case was the Mafikeng Labour Centre, which made the announcement in the morning. Subsequently, the Rustenburg Labour Centre also confirmed a COVID-19 case, and made the official announcement in the afternoon.
This comes amid the rising numbers of cases at various department centres and branches. The Labour Department did not reveal when the labour centres are set to reopen. Instead, the post suggested that the public will only be informed when the centres are open again. Moreover, should it be imperative for one to physically visit a labour centre, it is advised to visit the next nearest labour centre in the area.
See the post below.
