Kwesta’s 2016 album DaKar II is South African hip-hop’s all-time best-selling album.
South African rapper Kwesta took to Twitter yesterday, 15 April to announce exciting news.
Kwesta tweeted to his more than seven hundred thousand followers.
This was Kwesta’s official tweet:
“Want to say thank you to each & every one of my SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND FOLLOWERS @Twitter old & new!
I take it as a SIGN that this milestone coincides with RiSA declaring DaKAR II is now SEVEN TIMES PLATINUM, making it SA HIP HOP’s all-time best selling album”.
The rapper then asked his followers to take part in poll.

DaKar II
DaKar II is Kwesta’s third album which he released on 26 February 2016.
The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA), declared the album seven times platinum which means that it has sold over 210 000 copies.
After the release of the album Kwesta was quoted as saying that “with this album I’m enjoying myself as an artist”.
According to Kwesta, the album also differed from his first two which dealt with personal life stories.
