KwaZulu-Natal Athletics hosts another edition of Durban City Marathon

This year’s Durban City Marathon will be hosted by KwaZulu-Natal Athletics, and will take place on Sunday, 15 April at Kings Park Athletics Stadium.

Sunday, 15 April will kick off the long-awaited Durban City Marathon, an annual event for runners and walkers.

To enter the competition, first you must register on WebTickets website. Do note that there are some age restrictions regarding who can enter the competition. For the 42.2 km, all participants must be 20 years or older on race day; for the 21.1 km, all participants must be 16 years or older on race day; for the 10 km, all participants must be 14 years or older on race day.

Entries fee depends on the period you purchase your tickets, as well as on the distance to run.

If you get your tickets by 9 April, you have to pay R170 for the 42.2 km, R100 for the 21.1 km, and R80 for the 10 km.

However, the prices slightly increase if you decide to enter the competition after 9 April and until 14 April. You have to pay R200, R120 and R90 for each distance respectively.

All runners that will take the challenge of 42.2 km and 21.1 km will get T-shirts and medals. All those who will run the 10 km distance will receive medals.

All prizes, including prize money, trophies and/or special medals will only be issued once drug test results have been received and subject for clearance. Here are the prizes:

Prizes Marathon:  R5000 M&F 1st, R3000 M&F 2nd, R2000 M&F 3rd

Prizes 21.1km:        R1000 M&F 1st, R750 M&F 2nd, R500 M&F 3rd

Prizes 10km:           R300 M&F 1st, R200 M&F 2nd, R100 M&F 3rd
