South Korean actress Kim Yoo-jung (김유정 in Korea) puts acting career on hold, due to health problems.
According to a statement released on Monday, 26 February by her agency, Sidus HQ earlier this month, 18 years old Kim Yoo-jung was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, due to exhaustion and lack of physical strength. “It is not at the level to receive surgery, but she will focus on recovering her health while receiving treatment,” added the agency.
Kim Yoo-jung was cast in an upcoming JTBC drama “Clean with Passion for Now” (literal title), which was scheduled to air in April. Part of the filming has already been completed, but the drama’s release will be postponed from April to the second half of this year in consideration for Kim’s health, production crew said.
In their statement, Sidus HG said that after discussion with the production team on the matter, it was decided to “focus on treatment for now,” adding that “she will return to filming once she has recovered.”
The agency thanked the drama production crew for making the actress’s health a priority, adjusting the schedule of the release accordingly. “We also apologize to many people that have been waiting for the drama. Please give lots of support and encouragement so that she can greet you again in good health,” reads the statement.
