Amakhosi take on Usuthu in an Absa Premiership early evening kick off at the FNB stadium this weekend for another three points battle.
Chiefs 3 – 0 AmaZulu, 10 April 2018 (Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban).
Goal-scorers: George Maluleka (32nd minute), Hendrik Ektsein (55th minute) and and Siphiwe Tshabalala (59th minute).
Players to watch:
Star player Khama Billiat is in top form, from having assisted Gustavo Paez for Chiefs’ opener in the 2-0 win over Free State Stars in midweek and scoring a brace in the preceding match. Paez is motivated to claim a permanent start while Leonardo Castro is injured, he will work hard to score a second goal in two games.
AmaZulu will be glad over the fact that both of its strikers scored in the 3-3 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns in the previous match. Both Bonginkosi Ntuli and Jabulani Ncobeni will be out to hurt Chiefs and show coach Cavin Johnson that they can consistently score.
“They have a good coach in Cavin Johnson. They are a running team and are difficult to play against. We will have to fight to get the three points. It’s crucial to work as a team with everyone knowing the role he has to play – not only on the ball, but also off the ball. We are working hard to get this right.” – Lebogang Manyama, Kaizer Chiefs.
“We have watched Chiefs play. They like to play and keep possession. They are a good team. We will do our best and try to match them. It is an away game. So, a win or draw will be fine for us. It won’t be difficult because we know them very well. They rested some of their players in midweek. But we will be ready for them,” – Butholezwe Ncube, AmaZulu.
