Jung Woo-sung to narrate the documentary about Sewol Ferry disaster

Jung Woo-sung will be the voice of the upcoming documentary film about the 2014 Sewol ferry tragedy.

South Korean actor, director, producer and model Jung Woo-sung (정우성), is set to be the narrator of the upcoming film ‘Intention’, or ‘That Day, The Sea (그날, 바다)’ (literal translation), a documentary about the 2014 Sewol ferry tragedy.

Local media reports that the film features facts, scientific analysis, comprehensive research and testimonies from survivors.

According to the film’s production company, through high-quality computer graphics the film will recreate the terrible sinking of the ferry, in an attempt to uncover the cause of the incident that took place on 16 April 2014, taking the lives of nearly 300 students and teachers who were onboard for a school trip.

As of 17 April 2014, the South Korean coast guard concluded that an “unreasonably sudden turn” to starboard, was the cause of the capsizing of the ferry, however, there has been much speculation on the cause, but not a solid definite answer as to why it sank.

Whether the film will reveal the actual cause of the tragedy, we will find out in April, when the documentary is expected to be released.
