Julius Malema endorses Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s apology for “harassment” comment

Published on

Julius Malema took to Twitter to endorse the apology by fellow EFF member, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, for his controversial tweet about what constitutes harassment, following an incident involving an eNCA reporter.

The Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Mbuyiseni Ndlozi took to Twitter on Wednesday, 16 September 2020, to apologise for the comments he made over what constitutes harassment. On Thursday, 10 September 2020, Ndlozi defended the actions of EFF members who allegedly harassed an eNCA reporter covering the EFF-led protest action against Clicks. Ndlozi defended their actions by stating, in part, “Merely touching her is not harassment.”

In his apology, he wrote, “It was an irresponsible tweet, giving license to the violent treatment of women. It was also hurtful and made many who have suffered violence relive this pain.”

While the post was met with mixed reactions, one political figure who endorsed the apology was the EFF’s Commander in Chief, Julius Malema.
