Jacob Zuma’s State Capture appearance moved to November
Jacob Zuma’s appearance before the State Capture Commission has been moved to November 2020, with the Zondo Commission asserting that the new scheduled dates are non-negotiable.
The State Capture Commission took to Twitter on Monday, 21 September 2020, to clarify its stance on the appearance of former president, Jacob Zuma before the Commission. Initially, the Commission had set aside this entire week for Zuma to appear. However, Zuma’s legal team sent an affidavit stating that he would be busy preparing for his court date and, therefore, would not be able to appear before the Zondo Commission.
While the Commission assented to his failure to meet the initial scheduled dates, the Commission has moved his appearance to the week of Monday, 16 November to Friday, 20 November 2020. The new dates are said to be non-negotiable, and Zuma will be subpoenaed to appear, in order to avoid another possible no-show.
