The Jack Ma and Alibaba Foundations said they will make a third donation of medical equipment to the African Union (AU) and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention to assist African nations in the fight against COVID-19, it was reported on Monday, 20 April 2020.
The medical supplies include four-point-six million masks, five-hundred thousand swabs and test kits, three-hundred ventilators, two-hundred-thousand clothing sets, two-hundred-thousand face shields, two-thousand thermal guns, one-hundred body temperature scanners and five-hundred-thousand pairs of gloves.
In March, the foundations donated one-hundred-thousand medical masks, twenty-thousand test kits, one-thousand protective suits and one-thousand face shields to each of the fifty-four African countries.
In their second donation early this month, the foundations provided five-hundred ventilators, two-hundred-thousand suits and face shields, two-thousand thermometers, one million swabs & extraction kits and five-hundred thousand gloves.
