Fans of Imbewu, here is an analysis of Friday’s episode and a preview of what is to follow.
Imbewu: The Seed is steadily becoming a popular South African daily soap drama since its premiere in April.
Fans of the show will know that Friday’s episode tackled some major story issues.
Here is an overview of what happened:
Pranav and Ngcolosi departed for their overseas trip.
It was Zakithi’s first day back on the job at Maluju Oil. She insisted on checking the accounts of the company herself despite Nganono’s offer to help. She also ruffled some feathers across company quarters as she set about cutting costs.
Zakithi later confessed that her new leadership style is geared toward showing her father that she is ready to take over the company.
Zithulele continued to use his credit card to pay for the Oswenka show, ignoring Thu Sheleni’s warnings about the consequences.
Nerupa was anxious to meet Mira’s new friend and roped in Shria for the dinner affair. Nerupa was shocked to learn that Mira’s friend Adam is white. Further drama ensued when Mira let slip that he is her boyfriend.

Technical analysis
This episode of Imbewu The Seed touched on some topical social issues which are often overlooked in South African soap dramas.
Interracial relationships and the struggles they come with are for one are rarely represented. Nerupa’s reaction to Mira’s relationship could be a good departure for character development and open discussion about the issue.
Zakithi’s fight to be recognised as a worthy leader in spite of being female is also an intriguing plot line which relates to current social issues.
