Imbewu: The Seed Latest Episode Review and Teaser for 15 June 2018

Nganono took control of the workers strike while Futhi caused trouble at home

Last night’s episode of Imbewu: The Seed showed tensions at Maluju Oil reach peak point.

Here is an overview of all that happened:

Ntombifuthi returned home much to the excitement of her parents.

Mira broke off her relationship with Adam. She then encouraged Buhle to put herself out on the dating market.

Zakithi avoided having a conversation with MaZulu. Zakithi then went for a run to burn off her frustrations.

When she arrived home from her run, Zakithi was confronted by Nganono about her management of the workers complaints. He accused her of being selfish.

Lindiwe and Nomusa, waitresses at Emsamo, were introduced into the story. It was revealed that Lindiwe is having an affair with the club manager. He was angered by her free-spirited dancing around male customers.

Ntombifuthi revealed that she had plans to study in Johannesburg to her parents. They were taken aback.

Nomusa berated Lindiwe for having an affair with their boss.

Zakithi arrived at Maluju to the sight of her work staff in protest against her. Nganono took charge of the situation and calmed the workers by promising that their thirteenth cheque will be reinstated.

Technical analysis

The introduction of Nomusa and Lindiwe was rather out of the blue. Seeing that Emsamo has been a central setting thus far, it seems odd to introduce these characters so late into the first season. Their contribution to the overall storyline remains uncertain but it should be interesting to see where the writers take these characters from here onwards.

Preview

Here is a teaser for the next episode of Imbewu: The Seed on Friday, 15 June 2018:

Zakithi fires Nganono. Livid Shria insists that Zakithi must reinstate Nganono but Zakithi refuses. Secretly though, Zakithi is pained by what she has done.

Desperate Shria phones Zithulele in the hope that he can help. Mira encourages Buhle to post some selfies online. Thu Sheleni flirts with Nomusa.

Futhi can’t yet bring herself to tell her parents that she’s been accepted to the University of Johannesburg but Phakade and Namadonsela find out about it anyway. Bangizwe urges the Maluju staff to keep fighting for their rights.
