Zithulele was shocked to find Msobho at the clinic while Bangizwe stirred up the Maluju staff
Yesterday’s episode of Imbewu: The Seed saw the staff of Maluju Oil get an unwelcome surprise while Zithulele tracked Msobho down to a local clinic.
Here is an overview of all that happened:
Shria disclosed to Zakithi that the Maluju staff had received thirteenth cheques without performance evaluations being conducted. Zakithi quickly set about rectifying this oversight.
Needless to say, the staff were less than impressed that their yearly bonuses would not longer be a guarantee. Bangizwe stirred up trouble as he accused Zakithi of not having the staff’s best interests at heart.
The Oswenka crew grew nervous as Msobho failed to arrive for rehearsal. Zithulele went to his home after numerous missed calls. Msobho’s neighbours told Zithulele that he had collapsed earlier. Zithulele then tracked Msobho down to a local clinic where he was being treated for his sugar diabetes.
Msobho encouraged Zithulele to carry on as planned with the Oswenka event. He then returned to rehearsals to finalise the programme for the evening.
Nerupa discovered that Mira had not slept at home the previous evening and became concerned. She rehearsed her apology speech over and over again. She then called Buhle and asked her to relay her apologies to Mira.
Mira confessed to Buhle that she and Adam have not yet slept together but that they had discussed it. Buhle encouraged her to be honest with Nerupa.
MaZulu and MaNdlovu continued to scheme about finding Zakithi a husband. Phunyuka visited them to express his concern over the Maluju staff’s discontent with Zakithi’s insistence for performance evaluations.

Technical analysis
Again, the time signature of the show is incongruous. For some a day has passed while for others it remains the same day as the previous episode.
The story can have no real development if the characters are not inhabiting the same world. Time must progress in chronological order for the narrative to read as a dramatic sequence heading towards conflict points and a resolution.

Phunyuka informs MaNdlovu and MaZulu of staff unrest at Maluju. Mazulu thinks they should stay out of it, but MaNdlovu resolves to confront Zakithi. Meanwhile, Bangizwe demands a meeting to discuss the 13th cheque situation.
When the meeting descends into protest, MaNdlovu’s fears are realised. Meanwhile, Mira tells Buhle about the condom embarrassment.
At the Oswenka show, Zithulele misses Msobho, but is happy when the old man arrives in the nick of time, setting the stage for a memorable finale.
Finally, also at the show, Zakhiti castigates Nganono for caving to the staff, and Nirupa and Mira finally reconcile.
