Imbalie Beauty has released a statement confirming the appointment of Jack Phalane to the board, following the resignation of Bheki Shongwe that was announced last week.
Imbalie Beauty released a statement on Friday, 22 January 2021, announcing the appointment of Jack Phalane as the independent non-executive chairman of the board. This comes after the announcement of the resignation of the former chairman, Bheki Shongwe, which was shared on Monday, 11 January 2021.
While the announcement was made on the aforementioned date, Shongwe’s resignation had already taken effect on Thursday, 7 January 2021. While the company did not announce a search for a replacement, it seems that a suitable candidate may already have been identified.
According to the statement, “In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited (“JSE”) Listings Requirements, the board of directors (“Board”) of Imbalie Beauty is pleased to advise shareholders that Mr Jack Phalane, MBA, BA, LLB, LLM, MCom (Tax), Certificate in Advanced Corporate Law and Securities Law, Senior Primary Teachers Diploma, has been appointed as the independent non-executive chairman of Imbalie Beauty, effective Friday, 22 January 2021, as well as chairman of the Nominations Committee.”
